Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have acquired center Matt Sisca and future considerations in exchange for defenseman Ryan Annesley and forward Evan Trupp.
Sisca, a Woodbrige, Ontario native, has excelled in his first year of pro hockey; in 34 games with the Condors this season, he ranked second on the team with 27 points (8 goals, 19 assists) and a +8 plus/minus rating. His point totals are also good for a fifth-place tie among all ECHL rookies. Prior to going pro, the 21-year-old logged 254 games in in the OHL and OPJHL with 177 points (72 goals, 105 assists) during that stretch.
"One of our most pressing needs has been at center," said Cyclones Head Coach Jarrod Skalde. "We've been going for a while now with one natural center man. To bring in a guy like Matt who is one of the leading rookie point-getters is a big positive for our club. He is a player who competes and is going to make the people around him better."
Trupp had earned 13 points (2 goals, 11 assists) in 21 games with the Cyclones while Annesley posted seven points (1 goal, 6 assists) in 21 games.
"I can't say enough about Evan and Ryan as people," said Skalde. "I think they are both going to do tremendous out there. It's unfortunate that you have to give up quality to get quality, but we're looking forward to having Matt and our future considerations moving forward."
The Cyclones will return to U.S. Bank Arena TOMORROW NIGHT when they welcome in the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30pm. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a limited edition Cyclones Winter Hat! Secure your seats now by calling 513.421.PUCK or log on to CyclonesHockey.com.
