STOCKTON, Calif. - Center Milan Kytnar, who has appeared in 14 games with the Stockton Thunder this season, made his National Hockey League debut with the Edmonton Oilers tonight against the New Jersey Devils and registered a shot on goal and two takeaways at Rexall Place in Edmonton.
Kytnar, 22, became the eighth player to make his NHL debut after suiting up for the Thunder and accomplished the feat before a national TV audience on TSN. He was originally selected by Edmonton in the fifth round (127th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
This season, Kytnar has eight points (5g-3a) and a +4 rating in 14 games with the Thunder. He has also appeared in 85 career American Hockey League games with the Oklahoma City Barons, scoring 30 points (13g-17a) while notching a +2 rating.
The native of Topolcany, Slovakia suited up in 172 career junior games with Kelowna, Saskatoon and Vancouver of the Western Hockey League, scoring 126 points (50g-76a) while totaling 197 penalty minutes and a +28 rating.
