Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, AA Affiliate for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, have announced a transaction, as goaltender Peter Delmas has been recalled by the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. The move is effective immediately.
Delmas, 21, is playing in his second season of professional hockey, as well as his second season with the Nailers. In 15 appearances thus far this season, the 6-foot-3 netminder has posted a 9-4-0 record, a 2.43 GAA, and a .909 Sv%, giving him a total of 24 wins in two seasons with Wheeling. After missing three weeks with an injury, Delmas returned to the crease last weekend, and played in four consecutive games, earning wins in three of them. On Sunday afternoon, Peter made a season-high 40 saves, as he helped to lead the Nailers past the Greenville Road Warriors. Delmas has yet to appear in a game with Hamilton this season, but went 1-0-1 in two games with the Bulldogs last season.
Prior to turning pro, Delmas spent four full seasons in the QMJHL with Lewiston, Quebec, and Halifax. During his rookie season of 2006-07, the Bedford, NS native won a President's Cup with the Lewiston MAINEiacs, playing under current Hamilton Bulldogs head coach Clement Jodoin.
The Wheeling Nailers play next on Friday, January 13th, 2012 at 7 p.m. when they take on the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center. All Nailers road games can be heard live on the MIX 97.3 FM and www.wheelingnailers.com, or seen live on RTV 9 and America One Networks at b2livetv.com.
