Cutthroats Return to Denver to Defeat Quad City Mallards

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats returned home to host the Quad City Mallards at the Denver Coliseum on Friday, March 14. The Cutthroats defeated the Mallards 6-3 to claim their seventh consecutive win.

Vincent Arseneau (Troy Schwab, Garett Bembridge) opened the night with the Denver Cutthroats first goal. J.P. Chabot (Steve Kaunisto, T.J. Fox) backhanded a shot to give the Cutthroats a 2-0 lead over the Mallards. Quad City's Jeff Lee (Thomas Frazee, Ty Rimmer) cut the deficit to one, 2-1 Denver. Dan Barczuk found a slot to reclaim the Cutthroats two-goal lead and close the opening period 3-1.

Denver Cutthroats Troy Schwab (Arseneau, Bembridge) fired a shot to the back of the Quad City Mallards net for his 23rd goal of the season. Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel (Mike Stinziani, Matt Duffy) responded for the Mallards second goal. Vincent Arseneau (Barczuk, Cam Reid) put the puck into Quad City's cage for his second goal in the night. With less than two minutes remaining in the second period, Arseneau celebrated a hat trick with his third goal to give the Cutthroats a 6-2 lead.

Quad City's Justin Fox (Stinziani) fired a shot between Denver's posts for the Mallards third and final goal of the night, which sealed the Cutthroats 6-3 victory. Denver is now seeded second in the CHL standings with a 33-15-10 record.

The Denver Cutthroats Fan Appreciation Weekend continues on Saturday, March 15 at the Denver Coliseum against the Quad City Mallards. Fans are invited to celebrate the Cutthroats second season with a Pre-Game Pep Rally, Mascot Night, the chance for one lucky fan to shoot the puck to win $100,000 and so much more.
