Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

The Williamsport Crosscutters mustered just four hits on Monday night and had their four-game winning streak snapped in a 5-1 loss versus the State College Spikes.

The Spikes struck in the bottom of the first, collecting three runs on four hits off Cutters starter Adam Morgan. The Cutters got one back in the top of the second on a two-out RBI single by Kenny Miramontes.

State College regained a three-run lead in the second, as the Spikes used a Cutters outfield error to tack on a run and make it 4-1. They notched another in the bottom of the sixth off Cutters reliever Bryan Morgado for 5-1 lead.

Spikes reliever Orlando Castro picked up the win with four shutout innings of relief. Morgan took his second loss of the season after allowing three earned runs on eight hits over four innings.
