Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Crosscutters pitchers set a new franchise record for strikeouts in a single season in their split with the Doubledays.
Ben Pelletier highlighted the Cutters win, driving in four runs, finishing the game 2 for 4 with a double. Alec Bohm had two RBI in the win, finishing 1 for 4. Tyler Carr tossed three innings of relief, striking out one, earning the win.
Juan Escorcia took the loss in game two, allowing three runs on two hits and five walks over 4.2 innings of work, striking out six. Blake Bennett allowed two runs over 1.1 innings of relief, striking out one. The Cutters staff has struck out 639 batters.
Williamsport was held to three hits in the game, stranding four runners and scoring their lone run on a Doubledays error in the top of the 5th . Auburn plated all five of their runs in the bottom of the 5th , using three doubles and three walks.
