New Haven County Cutters News Release

(West Haven, CT- June 15, 2004) The New Haven County Cutters have taken the first two games in their four-game series against their South Division Rival New Jersey Jackals by a score of 7-1.

After the Jackals scored one in the top of the second, the Cutters scored five time in their half on five hits. Ryan Kane had an RBI double, Kevin Forbes and Tyrone Pendergrass followed with RBI singles.

Again the big blow was supplied off of the bat of Team Australia Baseball Olympian Gavin Figleson. The Sydney native drove in a pair on his 2-out single to cap the Cutters scoring in the second.

Cutters Starter Jordy Alexander retired nine hitters at one point and has yet to allow an earned run to the Jackals in 13 career innings against New Jersey. With the win Alexander improved to 2-1 on the season and he allowed three hits.

The Cutters bullpen again was dominant. AJ Brack and Shane Waroff combined to throw a perfect final three innings.

Four New Haven hitters had two hits in the game Tyrone Pendergrass, Gavin Fingleson, Billy Rich and Ryan Kane.

Tomorrow is Whattya Know Wednesday at Yale Field with trivia contests to keep fans entertained and thinking. Tickets are still available for the two remaining games in the homestand by logging onto www.cuttersbaseball.com, at the Box Office or by calling the Cutters front office at (203) 777-5636.
