HARRISBURG, PA - Filling in for a player carrying a 10 game hit streak can be a difficult spot to be put in, Hector Gimenez though was more than up to the challenge bashing two home runs and driving in three runs in place of catcher Steve Lerud as Altoona completed a three game sweep of Harrisburg with a 4-2 win Wednesday at Metro Bank Park.

Gimenez, a 10 year veteran from Venezuela, got the Curve on the board first hitting a solo home run to right field in the second inning. Then after Harrisburg rallied to take a 2-1 lead in the third inning, it was Gimenez again crushing another home run in the fourth driving in Jason Delaney and putting Altoona ahead 3-2.

Brad Corley added another run for the Curve after walking then two wild pitches and one throwing error later got Corley all the way around the bases to give the Curve a 4-2 advantage.

Gimenez finished the day 3-for 3 with two home runs, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Curve starter Daniel Moskos evened his record at 2-2 with the win after pitching six innings and allowing two runs on six hits, striking out two. Jean Machi picked up his second consecutive save and fourth on the season.

The Curve return home Thursday to start a four day, five game, homestand featuring a great variety of promotions, starting with Thirsty Thursday presented by Rocky 104.9. Fans at Thursday's ballgame will receive half-off on all small sodas and on 16 oz Miller Lites.

The Curve will be taking on the Akron Aeros (AA-Cleveland Indians) with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30 at Blair County Ballpark and radio coverage will begin at 6:05 on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network. Lefty Kyle Bloom (0-0, 4.15) will be starting for Altoona and right hander Jeanmar Gomez (2-0, 0.75) will be on the mound for Akron.
