Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, have announced that pitcher Jen-Ho Tseng has been activated from the disabled list. Tseng is scheduled to start this evening's 6:30 p.m. game against Cedar Rapids at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. Also, Cubs outfielder Ryan Sweeney is expected to suit up for the Cougars as part of a rehabilitation appearance tonight. Today's roster move brings the Cougars to the Midwest League limit of 25 active players as Sweeney does not fill an active roster spot.

Tseng (Non-drafted free agent, 2013) was placed on the disabled list May 19. So far this season, the right-hander is 3-0 with a 2.81 ERA and has yielded just 5 walks in 32 innings of work.

Sweeney made a similar appearance with the Cougars late last season. Sweeney has played in 20 games for the Cubs this season, most recently on May 2. The following day, he was placed on the disabled list with a right hamstring strain. Last season in 70 games with the Cubs, Sweeney batted .266 with 6 home runs and 19 RBI. Sweeney was born and resides in Cedar Rapids, the opponent who faces the Cougars this evening.
