C's Bats Explode in Lopsided Victory over Boise

(Memorial Stadium - Boise, ID) - Vancouver's offense showed up and showed out on Wednesday night putting 17 hits on the Boise Hawks that produced 13 runs as the Canadians topped Boise 13-5 out at Memorial Stadium. DH Philip Clarke led the way for the Canadians offense going 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI.

Vancouver scored a run in the top of the 1st inning when 3B Jesus Lopez doubled home DH Philip Clarke (walk) with two outs giving the C's an early lead. It would be the first of 11 runs that the Canadians would score over the first three innings.

In the top of the 2nd, Vancouver would send 10 hitters to the plate including LF MC Gregory Contreras who hit a bases clearing triple collecting three RBI as the C's would score six runs off Boise starter RHP Jeffri Ocando would couldn't escape the frame.

An inning later and Vancouver would bat around once again scoring four more runs that had DH Philip Clarke managing a two-run single that scored both SS Ronny Brito (single) and 1B Trevor Schwecke (fielder's choice) to help the Canadians put this one out of reach.

Canadians starter RHP Nick Fraze went three innings of one-run baseball striking out four before turning the ball over to the bullpen. Vancouver RHP Jared DiCesare (2-0) went three innings allowing five hits and a trio of runs that included DH Trey Jacobs 1st home run of the summer, a two-run shot that brought the Hawks to within seven at the time. LHP Grayson Huffman allowed a lone run over his inning of work before RHP Parker Caracci came in to pitch two scoreless frames striking out two.

With the game out of reach, Vancouver added a pair of runs late as CF Cameron Eden hit a triple and scored on a SS Ronny Brito ground out in the top of the 8th inning, and in the 9th inning DH Philip Clarke capped off his second four-hit night of the season when he hit a one out double and scored on an RBI triple from RF Will Robertson.

The win improves the Canadians second half record to 4-5 (.444) while the Hawks fall to 5-4 (.555) with the four-game series finale set for Thursday, August 1st at 6:15pm PST as RHP Alex Nolan gets the ball for Vancouver.
