JOLIET, Illinois - The Lake Erie Crushers continued their Chicago-area trip at DuPage Medical Group Field to face the Joliet Slammers. The Crushers homered twice to tally all of their runs in the contest.
All five of Lake Erie's runs came home in the top of the fourth inning. Steve Passatempo notched his ninth bomb of the season off of Logan Lyle. A two-run shot to plate Trevor Achenbach as well. Later in the frame, Nick Rotola jacked a three-run shot, his eighth fence-clearer of the campaign.

The solo run Joliet scored was an RBI groundout by Kyle Jacobsen. That run was surrendered by Taylor Sugg, who added a third save to his 2021 resume. The Crushers would hold on the rest of the way to win by a score of 5-1.
Lake Erie now sports a record of 38-46 after winning its third-straight game.
The middle game of the series will get underway at 8:05 pm EST.
