AVON, Ohio - The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy Health, won their first series at Rent One Park in six years with a 4-2 victory over the Southern Illinois Miners.
The Crushers (52-41) improve to 5-4 against the Miners this season with the win. While the Miners (51-42) have now lost their sixth game in their last 10.

Lake Erie's offense started hot and built up an early lead in this one. Three runs came across to score in the top of the first for the Crushers. Logan Farrar got the offense going with a one out double and then scored moments later on Steven Kraft's single. Dale Burdick provided the next two runs of the inning with one swing. Burdick hit a towering fly ball over the left field fence to make it a 3-0 lead. The homer for Burdick was his 12th of the season.

The Miners second run of the game came via the long ball again in the second. Arturo Nieto hit a solo home run to lead off the inning and cut the deficit down to one. But that would be the last run of the game for the Miners.
