Syracuse, NY (March 19, 2002) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they released defenseman Alex Johnstone from his professional tryout contract.

Johnstone, 21, appeared in three games over the weekend for Syracuse, recording his first AHL goal along with 18 penalty minutes.

Syracuse returns to action on Wednesday, March 20 for a 7:00 p.m. match-up against the Cleveland Barons at the Gund Arena. The Crunch returns home on Friday, March 22 for a 7:30 p.m. contest against the Hamilton Bulldogs.
