
BUTSAYEV INVOLVED IN RED WINGS DEAL FOR SLEGR

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Detroit Red Wings traded Cincinnati Mighty Ducks left wing Yuri Butsayev and a third-round pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for defenseman Jiri Slegr on Tuesday.
Butsayev had 21 goals and 23 assists in 61 games with Cincinnati this season. He was scoreless in three games for Detroit. In 124 career games with Cincinnati, the 6-foot-1, 183-pounder had 50 goals and 41 assists, including a team-leading 29 goals last season.
Slegr has three goals and five assists in 38 games this season. He has 39 goals and 206 points in 530 NHL games with Vancouver, Edmonton, Pittsburgh and Atlanta.
