
ROCHE SWAPPED FOR GUITE AND MELIN

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim traded Cincinnati left wing Dave Roche to the New York Islanders on Tuesday in exchange for right wing Ben Guite and 20-year-old Swedish prospect Bjorn Melin.
Guite, 23, is in his second professional season after playing collegiately at Maine. He is second among AHL rookies with a plus-15 rating and had 12 goals and 18 assists in 68 games with Bridgeport. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder was originally drafted by Montreal in the seventh round of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft and is the son of former WHA Cincinnati Stinger Pierre Guite.
A Montreal, Quebec native, Guite was signed by the Islanders as a free agent, August 1, 2001. He will be assigned to Cincinnati by Anaheim.
Melin, a 6-foot-1, 178-pound right wing, was drafted by the Islanders in the sixth round of the 1999 draft. He has been playing in the Swedish Elite League with HV 71.
Roche, 26, started the season in the AHL with Bridgeport and had 22 goals and 10 assists in 36 games before Anaheim acquired him from the Islanders on January 14 for right wing Jim Cummins. The Lindsay, Ontario had six goals and seven assists in 29 games for Cincinnati.
