Albany, NY (March 14, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch dropped their third game in three days, falling to the Albany River Rats by a 3-1 count this afternoon at the Times Union Center.

Cedric McNicoll, Jamie McBain and Matthew Pistilli each had a goal for Albany, while goaltender Mike Morrison stopped 27 of 28 Crunch shots. Grant Clitsome tallied his fifth of the season for the Crunch's only goal.

McNicoll got the scoring started for Albany when he stole the puck after a Jonathan Sigalet defensive zone turnover, skated in and pinpointed a shot to the upper left hand corner past Kevin Lalande for the 1-0 lead at the 10:27 mark of the first period.

The River Rats outshot the Crunch by a 13-3 margin in the game's opening 20 minutes.

The Crunch came out with more jump in the second stanza and tied the game on the power play just three minutes in.

Newcomer Evan McGrath dove to poke the puck back to Brendan Bell at the point, who quickly slid it over to Clitsome on the right side. Clitsome's one-timer found the five-hole of Morrison to knot the contest at 1-1.

Albany re-took the lead just five and a half minutes later with a power play goal of its own when Jamie McBain's blast from the point snuck just inside the right post past a screened Lalande to make it 2-1.

The River Rats finished off the game's scoring when Jonathan Paiement's centering feed deflected off the side of the Crunch net and right to Pistilli, who swiftly found the open side past Lalande to put Albany up 3-1.

The Crunch pulled Lalande for a 6-on-4 advantage when Albany's Brett Bellemore was called for hooking with just over two minutes left in regulation, but could not put the puck past Morrison.
