The Williamsport Crosscutters picked up a huge 6-3 win against the Vermont Lake Monsters on Friday night at Susquehanna Bank Park to snap a two game losing streak. The Cutters rallied back from a 3-0 deficit to score two runs in the seventh inning and four more in the eighth inning.

The Lake Monsters would welcome themselves to Williamsport by scoring a pair of runs in the top of first inning. Skye Bolt lead off the game with a double and would score two batters later to make it 1-0. The Lake Monsters scored their second run on a throwing error by Cutters left fielder Zach Coppola. The Cutters would be unable to respond in the home half of the inning, stranding a runner on first base.

Mitch Gueller settled in for Williamsport after a shaky first inning to keep the Lake Monsters off of the scoreboard with four scoreless innings. Gueller would pick up the no decision working five innings while allowing two runs on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Vermont added to their lead in the top of the sixth inning with a one out solo home run to make it a 3-0 game.

The Cutters offense would come to life in the bottom of the seventh inning by cutting the deficit to 3-2. Zach Coppola and Mark Laird each brought in a run with Laird delivering a single. The Momentum continued for the Cutters in the bottom of the eighth inning as they would bat around the lineup scoring four runs to take a 6-3 lead. Austin Bossart highlighted the frame with an RBI double to extend his hitting streak to 11 games, which is currently the second longest in the league. The Cutters hold onto their five game lead for first place over West Virginia after they defeated Connecticut 7-1.
