Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Williamsport Crosscutters won for a franchise record-tying 10th time in a row in a 6-2 victory Friday night in Oneonta. The Cutters have previously had 10-game winning streaks in their championship seasons of 2001 and 2003. Things started off rocky for Williamsport as starter Dave Davidson allowed two runs in the 1st inning. Williamsport bats started coming alive in the 4th as 3B Brett Grandstrand had a lead-off triple and 1B Steven Pearce brought him home with an RBI double. The Cutters would add three more runs in the 5th inning including a 2-RBI single by Pearce who finished the game 2-for-5 with 3 RBI. The squad goes for a franchise record 11th win in a row Saturday night in Oneonta.
