FC Dallas advanced to the Round of 16 with a 3-1 overtime win on July 13 over the Wilmington Hammerheads (United Soccer Leagues Second Division). Dallas (10-5-4, 34 pts.) sits tied for first in the Western Conference. If The Crew advances, it faces the winner of the August 3 match between D.C. At stake in the tournament is $180,000 in prize money. The U.S. Open Cup, the U.S. Soccer Federation's National Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. It is the oldest annual team tournament in U.S. sports history and among the oldest soccer tournaments of its type in the world. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor long-time soccer pioneer and Crew Founder Lamar Hunt.

After the U.S. Open Cup match, The Crew will travel to the West coast to face the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, August 6, at 10 p.m. (ET) at Spartan Stadium.

The Crew (6-10-3, 21 pts.) is 2-0-1 under Interim Head Coach Robert Warzycha. The Earthquakes (9-4-7, 34 pts.) are tied with Dallas for first place in the Western Conference.

Saturday's game in San Jose will be televised locally on the Ohio News Network. It can also be heard in English on 103.9, TED-FM, or on-line at TheCrew.com and MLSNet.com.

CREW STADIUM IN THE 2005 SIERRA MIST MLS ALL-STAR GAME

The MLS All-Stars got three second-half goals, including a pair from substitute and former Crew forward Jeff Cunningham, to race past Fulham FC of the English Premier League 4-1 in the 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game on Saturday afternoon at Columbus Crew Stadium.

MLS All-Star Game Honda MVP Taylor Twellman (New England Revolution) gave MLS the lead midway through the first half, but a penalty converted by Fulham's Claus Jensen sent the teams into the break level. Ronnie O'Brien (FC Dallas) deflected a Clint Dempsey (New England Revolution) shot to put the MLS side ahead for good in the 56th minute. Cunningham (Colorado Rapids) scored two goals in the final five minutes to provide the final score line.
