FC Dallas News Release

STADIUM DEDICATION GAME AT PIZZA HUT PARK THIS SATURDAY: FC Dallas will have their first match at Pizza Hut Park this Saturday, August 6 at 7:30 p.m. against the MetroStars. The Stadium Dedication Game will see the gates open at 5:30 p.m. (two hours prior to kickoff) in order to encourage fans to get to the facility early. This begins a stretch for FC Dallas that will see them at Pizza Hut Park for 10 of their final 13 matches. Through their first six home matches (at the Cotton Bowl) this season, they are 5-0-1.

The squad is currently tied for first place in the Western Conference with a 10-5-4 record for 34 points. Although San Jose also has 34 points, FC Dallas has one game-in-hand. The 34 points for FC Dallas after 19 matches is the best start for the club in team history.

The MetroStars match can be heard on English Radio (KFCD - 990 AM) and on Spanish Radio (Radio AYO - 1540 AM).

U.S. OPEN CUP FOURTH ROUND BEGINS ON WEDNESDAY: FC Dallas will have two meaningful matches this week with the first one coming on Wednesday against the Columbus Crew during fourth round play of the U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. (CST). The winner of the match will play either DC United or the Richmond Kickers (USL-1) in the quarterfinals.

RONNIE O'BRIEN TALLIES GAME-WINNER AT ALL-STAR GAME: The 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game in Columbus featured the MLS All-Stars defeating Fulham FC of the English Premier League by a 4-1 score on Saturday. With the score tied 1-1, FC Dallas midfielder Ronnie O'Brien deflected a Clint Dempsey shot past the Fulham goalkeeper in the 56th minute to give the All-Stars the lead for good. FC Dallas defender Greg Vanney, midfielder Simo Valakari and goalkeeper Scott Garlick all appeared in the match as well.
