GREENSBORO, NC - The Hickory Crawdads topped the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 4-2, in 13 innings on Sunday evening, before 3,029 fans at NewBridge Bank Park .

The Grasshoppers (5-6, 51-30) got out to a quick lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning against RHP Nick Martinez. Three straight singles started the frame, including an RBI base hit by LF Aaron Senne that brought in CF John Schultz for the 1-0 lead.

The Crawdads (8-3, 44-36) quickly tied the game in the top of the second, facing RHP Jose Urena. LF Alejandro Selen belted the inning's second pitch over the left-field wall for a game-tying solo homer, making it 1-1.

However, Greensboro responded with a run in the bottom of the second to retake the lead. With one away, 2B Ryan Goetz deposited a solo home run over the right-center field wall for the 2-1 advantage.

Hickory again battled it back even, with Selen driving in another run in the top of the sixth. 2B Rougned Odor and SS Luis Sardinas led off with consecutive singles, before Odor moved up to third on a fly out to center. Selen then struck again, skying an RBI sacrifice fly to right field, plating Odor for the 2-2 tie.

After six scoreless innings alternated by both teams' bullpens, the 'Dads broke through against RHP Chris Shafer (L, 1-2) in the top of the 13th inning. With one away, RF Jordan Akins lined a double to right field, before racing home on an RBI double by Odor off the left-field wall. Sardinas advanced Odor to third with a bunt single, and then CF Chris Grayson drove an RBI sacrifice fly to left, plating Odor for the 4-2 lead.

After RHP Taylor Dennis (W, 1-0) logged three scoreless relief innings in his Hickory debut, RHP Daniel Lopez (S, 1) slammed the door with a scoreless bottom of the 13th, closing the 4-2 marathon win for Hickory.
