
Suns Hold on to Trump Lakewood 11-9

Lakewood, NJ - The Hagerstown Suns (49-31) staved off another late rally by the Lakewood BlueClaws (32-48) and held on for an 11-9 win at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, NJ on Sunday afternoon.
Suns starting pitcher Kylin Turnbull (4-4) earned his second consecutive win, allowing three runs over five innings of work. Aaron Barrett was called upon to record the final two outs of the ninth inning, nailing down his 12th save, tying him for second in the league standings.
Third baseman Justin Miller extended his hitting streak to nine games and finished 2-for-4 with a double, homerun and three RBIs. First baseman Brett Newsome enjoyed his second straight three-RBI game, finishing the day 3-for-5 with a double. Catcher Cole Leonida went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.
BlueClaws starter Hoby Milner (0-1) suffered the loss allowing five runs over three innings in his debut with the team. First baseman Chris Duffy went 2-for-3 with a three-run homerun to extend his hitting streak to 16 games in a losing effort.
The Suns and BlueClaws will continue the series on Monday night at 7:05 p.m. when RHP Taylor Hill (8-4, 4.02) takes the mound for Hagerstown. Lakewood will send RHP Ramon Oviedo (1-6, 8.72) to the mound for the start.
