May 14, 2024 - South Atlantic League (SAL)
Hickory Crawdads News Release
Hickory, NC- The Crawdads, playing as their Llamas de Hickory Latin-inspired identity, dropped a 4-2 decision to the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Tuesday night at LP Frans Stadium, opening a 13-game homestand that will stretch over the next two weeks.
Konner Piotto drove in both runs in the fourth inning with an opposite field single to left, scoring Yeison Morrobel and Quincy Scott. Morrobel opened the frame with the clubs first hit of the contest, as Scott followed with a double to right centerfield.
The bullpen for Hickory was solid again, as the trio of Jackson Kelly, Adrian Rodriguez and Gavin Collyer surrendered two hits over five innings, allowing a ninth inning run to close out the scoring for both teams.
The Crawdads will play their third Education Day, presented by Dippin' Dots, game of the season tomorrow at 11am, as Ryan Lobus takes the hill for Hickory vs Greensboro. It is also a Senior Day by OrthoCarolina. The game will air on MiLB.TV, the Bally Live app, with an audio feed available on www.hickorycrawdads.com at 10:45 am.
