
Crawdads Can't Handle Drive in Loss

Hickory, NC - The Crawdads fell in Thursday night's contest against the Greenville Drive by a score of 17-5.
The 'Dads took a 1-0 lead in the first. Frainyer Chavez led off the game with a single. Justin Foscue tripled him in for the first run of the game.
The Drive tied the game on a solo homerun in the top of the second.
Jonathan Ornelas put the 'Dads back ahead in the bottom of the second, taking on dead center for his seventh homerun of the year.
Greenville pulled ahead with a pair of runs in the third. They added four more in the fifth to make the score 7-2.
The Crawdads got one back in the bottom of the fifth. Jake Guenther doubled to left to lead off the inning. Walker advanced the runner to third on a ground out. Justin Foscue singled him in for the 'Dads third run.
Greenville got the run back in the sixth and three more in the seventh to bring the score to 11-3.
In the bottom of the 8th the Crawdads were able to get two runs across. Derwin Barreto drew a walk in his 'Dads debut. David Garcia singled and Jonathan Ornelas was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Pedro Gonzalez came through with a single to center to score Barreto and Garcia.
Trey Hair, who was in the starting lineup as the designated hitter, came in to pitch in the ninth inning. In his second relief appearance of the season, Hair allowed six runs, bringing the score to 17-5.
Tomorrow night will be Disney Night with the Enchanted Elegance Princesses presented by Disney and Sonrise Travel. The night will be capped off with a firework show thanks to OrthoCarolina and WHKY 1290AM and 102.3FM.
