Crawdads 2016 Schedule Released

Hickory, NC - The Hickory Crawdads have released their schedule for the 2016 season, with the 'Dads 24th year in Hickory scheduled to start on the road on Thursday, April 7th with the home opener set for Thursday, April 14th.
The Crawdads will begin the 2016 season with a 7-game road tip to Kannapolis and Greensboro starting on April 7th. The 'Dads will kick off the home portion of their schedule with four games against Kannapolis beginning on April 14th, followed by three games vs. Greenville to complete the week-long home stand. The Crawdads will also be home over Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day in addition to playing 10 Thirsty Thursdays and 9 Fireworks Fridays. The 'Dads will also host two additional fireworks shows on July 3rd following the night's game, and on the 4th of July with the team on the road.
43 of the Crawdads games will be against fellow North Carolina teams, including 21 vs. Greensboro, 16 against Kannapolis, and 6 versus Asheville. The Rome Braves will also be a frequent opponent, with the 'Dads taking on the Atlanta Braves affiliate in 18 games, 11 at L.P. Frans Stadium. The Crawdads will host the brand-new Columbia Fireflies as well on June 27th - 29th.
The schedule will once again feature the Crawdads in the South Atlantic League Northern Division and will be comprised of 140 games, 70 per half. The two halves will be split by the All-Star break from June 20th - 23rd, with the 57th annual SAL All-Star Game taking place in Lexington, KY.
