PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte Stone Crabs scored the game-winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the ninth inning to edge the Fort Myers Miracle, 3-2, at Charlotte Sports Park on Friday evening.

Tied 2-2 entering the final half inning, Miracle reliever John Curtiss issued a walk to Alec Sole to begin the ninth after recording a perfect eighth. Bralin Jackson pushed a bunt past the mound with the intent to move Sole into scoring postion. Curtiss (0-2) bounced off the rubber, grabbed the ball, spun and threw wild to first base. The error allowed Sole to advance to third. Curtiss rallied to strike out Christian Toribio, but the first pitch to Jace Conrad was high. The ball deflected out of Brian Navarreto's mitt and rolled to the backstop. Sole crossed home plate standing to clinch a walk-off comeback victory for the Crabs, 3-2.

The Miracle grabbed a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning. Edgar Corcino led off with a single into center field off Charlotte starter Greg Harris. Max Murphy then doubled into left center to push Corcino to third base. Murphy exited the game due to injury and was replaced by Austin Diemer at second base.

With two men in scoring position, Alex Real laced a line drive single into left that brought in Corcino. Diemer moved to third. With runners on the corners, Logan Wade rolled into a 6-3 double play on an 0-1 pitch from Harris, but a run scored to put the Miracle up 2-0.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Stone Crabs shaved a run off the Miracle lead. On an MLB rehabilitation assignment from the Minnesota Twins, Miracle starter Kyle Gibson allowed a lead-off single to Cade Gotta on a high chopper to third base. After a strikeout of Justin Williams, a Gibson wild pitch advanced Gotta to second base. Gibson then got Sole to roll out to second and Gotta took third. Jackson stepped in and delivered a two-out RBI hit up the middle to score Gotta, 2-1.

Gibson exited the game after five innings and 72 pitches. Giving up just the one run on six hits, Gibson struck out six with no walks in a no decision.

Charlotte added a second two-out run-scoring hit in the bottom of the sixth. Nick Anderson took over on the mound for the Miracle and surrendered a lead-off single to Nick Ciuffo. Anderson forced Ciuffo into an out at second after a Gotta slow chopper to third. With Gotta at first base, Williams hit a hot shot that deflected off of Anderson and bounced to Tanner Witt at second. Witt threw out Williams while Gotta moved to second. With two out, Sole sent an 0-1 pitch up the middle for an RBI hit to knot the score, 2-2.

Harris went five innings and gave up two runs on five hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in a no decision. Knuckleballer Jeff Howell tossed two scoreless frames out of the Charlotte pen and Mike Franco picked up the win with two perfect innings. Franco (2-1) struck out the side in the ninth.
