Coyotes Recall Kolanos

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that center Krystofer Kolanos has been recalled by the Phoenix Coyotes, their National Hockey League affiliate.

Kolanos, 22, registered 15 points on nine goals and six assists in 17 games with the Falcons since being assigned by the Coyotes on November 29th. The Calgary native recorded a hat trick in a 4-1 Falcons' win over the Hartford Wolf Pack on December 31st. Kolanos has scored two game-winning goals for Springfield this season.

Kolanos collected four points (2g, 2a) in 21 games with Phoenix prior to being assigned to the Falcons. The current season is his third professional campaign. Kolanos was selected in the first round (19th overall) by the Coyotes in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Falcons host the Worcester IceCats tonight and the Lowell Lock Monsters on Saturday evening in a pair of Atlantic Division match-ups at the Springfield Civic Center. Game time for both contests is 7:35 p.m. AAA members can present their card at the Civic Center box office by 5 pm to receive a $3 discount on an adult ticket to tonight's game.
