Moncton Wildcats News Release
The Moncton Wildcats announce that the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League have reassigned 18 year old Brandon Gormley back to his junior team the Moncton Wildcats. Brandon is expected to arrive today and could be in the lineup Wednesday night as the Wildcats entertain the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Wildcats Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Danny Flynn had the following to say about Gormley's time at Coyotes camp. "Phoenix was very happy with Brandon's play at camp and regard him as an excellent prospect. However, they feel another year of major junior is best for his long term development. We are excited to have him back and hope to have him in the lineup on Wednesday."
Last year for the Wildcats Gormley had 9 goals and 34 assists for 43 points in 58 games played. He added 2 goals and 15 assists for 17 points in 21 playoff games as the Wildcats captured their 2nd President Cup.
