Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, MA â The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced that rookie goaltender Scott Dickie has been assigned to the club by the Phoenix Coyotes.
Dickie earned an invitation to Coyotes' veteran training camp by posting a 2-1-0 record, 2.00 goals against average (GAA), and .908 save percentage (SV%) in the club's triumphant rookie tournament in El Segundo, California earlier this month. The London, Ontario native was signed by Springfield on August 11th.
Dickie backstopped the Ontario Hockey League's (OHL) Kitchener Rangers to a Memorial Cup championship last season. The netminder won all four of Kitchener's Memorial Cup games, compiling a 2.25 GAA and .911 SV%, and was honored with the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy as the tournament's outstanding goaltender. During the regular campaign, Dickie registered a GAA of 2.59, the best in the franchise's 40-year history, as well as a .914 SV% and 30-7-3 record. The 5'10", 185-pound goaltender accumulated a record of 87-56-16 over his four-year OHL career with Kitchener.
