Cox Earns Player of the Week Honors

Montreal, October 18, 2011 - Linebacker Chip Cox has been named the CFL's Defensive Player of the Week following his key role in Sunday's thrilling 27-25 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Percival Molson Stadium.

Cox broke up a critical two-point conversion in the final seconds of the fourth quarter to help the Alouettes take over sole possession of first place in the East and clinch a home playoff game. The 28-year-old also picked off a Kevin Glenn pass, returning it 43 yards in the fourth quarter and led the way with a team-high seven tackles, including one sack.

This marks the third time Cox has earned the league's nod as Defensive Player of the Week this season.
