Glee Star Cory Monteith to be Grand Marshal of Grey Cup Festival Parade

Phil Reimer, chairman of the Safeway Grey Cup Festival Parade, is pleased to announce that Cory Monteith, star of the hit TV series Glee, will be the Grand Marshal of this year's Safeway Grey Cup Festival Parade scheduled for Saturday, November 26th on the streets of downtown Vancouver.

"Cory, who grew up in Victoria on Vancouver Island, represents the fun and joy that will be a family day at the 2011 Grey Cup Festival." said Phil Reimer, Chairman of the Safeway Grey Cup Festival Parade. "The entire day will be filled with events for all ages."

Cory moved from Victoria to Vancouver as a teenager to pursue his dream of becoming a working actor. With perseverance and constant study, he was able to make the transition to full-time actor within several years of his move. In late 2008, Cory won the role of "Finn Hudson" in Glee and hasn't looked back since. Last year, Cory was also in the FOX feature film "Monte Carlo" and is currently starring in the Canadian festival favorite "Sisters and Brothers". He currently continues to shoot Glee and has a starring film vehicle under development with FOX 2000. His Canadian roots remain paramount to Cory who comes home any chance he gets and always looks for opportunities to work in Canada.

"It is an honour to serve as Grand Marshal for the 2011 Grey Cup Parade in Vancouver. I love any excuse to come home and this is a thrilling one!" says Monteith.
