County Commissioners Make the Ice Pilots Stay Official

PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots have announced that County Commissioners officially approved the new extended lease to keep the club in Pensacola. The agreement will allow the Ice Pilots to play in the Pensacola Civic Center through the 2010-2011 hockey season with an option for an additional two years following.

"I tip my hat to County Administrator Bob McLaughlin, the County Commissioners, Jean Kassab and the Civic Center General Manager. Everyone pulled together to get this deal done and make it workable for all parties," said Ice Pilots President Greg Schuh. "The Ice Pilots can now continue to make their contributions to this great community and focus on re-establishing a winning tradition on the ice."

Additional terms in the lease include establishing game day rent, maximum number of weekend playing dates the club may use and tailgating options on game days.

Don't miss the hard hitting, exciting action, as the Ice Pilots' next home game is Friday, February 22 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Gwinnett at the Civic Center. It is College Night, as tickets are just $5 for students, faculty and family. Group Tickets and Military Packages are still available through the Ice Pilots office.
