Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ (February 14, 2008) - The Trenton Devils announced today that goaltender Dave Caruso has been recalled by the Lowell Devils of the American Hockey League. The second-year netminder will join Lowell for the fourth time this season after posting some of the best numbers in the ECHL.

Caruso has seen extensive action with Trenton this season, starting 33 contests while holding opponents down with a 2.59 goals against average and .917 save percentage. He has appeared in 34 games overall and has a record of 13-16-1-3.

The Trenton netminder has the most minutes played of any goaltender ranked in the ECHL's top-15 in goals against average or top-10 in save percentage.

The 6-1, 218-pounder from Roswell, GA served between the pipes for one game this year in Lowell, taking a loss after making 30 saves on 35 shots.

Last year Caruso, an Ohio State alum, played 38 games for the Gwinnett Gladiators (ECHL), compiling a record of 23-11-4 with a 3.13 GAA and save percentage of .904. He also started a contest with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.

The Trenton Devils have seen a lot of player movement with their AHL affiliate; Caruso is one of eight players to split his season between Trenton and the Lowell Devils. Netminder Jason Smith, forwards Trevor Kell, Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond, Benoit Mondou and Joe Rooney, and defensemen Sean Zimmerman and Zach Tarkir have also skated for both squads this season. Letourneau-Leblond, Mondou, and Zimmerman remain with the AHL franchise.

The Trenton Devils continue their homestand against the best in the American Conference when they face the Cincinnati Cyclones at Sovereign Bank Arena tomorrow at 7:30pm. Full and partial season ticket plans for 2007-08 are available by calling (609) 599-9500.
