Countdown To Face-Off
January 1, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Beginning a home-and-home series on the road, the Kalamazoo Wings will kick off the New Year at Lucas County Arena to battle the Toledo Walleye. Tonight is the sixth meeting of the season between the division rivals. Kalamazoo is 1-2-2-0 against Toledo and 1-0-2-0 at Lucas County Arena.
Traveling away from Wings Stadium for the first time since December 5th, the K-Wings are looking to snap a four-game winless streak (0-2-2-0). Kalamazoo's recent woes have dropped the K-Wings from first place a week ago, to a third place tie with the Wheeling Nailers.
First place 24 hours ago, a loss to the Nailers halted an eight-game winning streak for the Walleye and plunged Toledo in the second place in the North Division. With 38 points, Toledo is two points ahead of Kalamazoo and Wheeling for second and trail Cincinnati by a single point for first place.

On the Road Again
When the K-Wings travel to Toledo this Friday, it will mark the K-Wings first road game in a span of 27 days. Kalamazoo's last road trip was back on December 5th also at Lucas County Arena to battle the Walleye.
Lighting the Lamp
While it has been a while since he has had to, Kalamazoo's Mathieu Curadeau has had no trouble lighting the lamp on the road. Curadeau has scored goals in three straight goal games.
Six Pack
Forward Trent Daavettila enters the game on a six-game road scoring streak (10/17/09-present). The six-game streak is tied for the longest current road point streak (Cincinnati-Barrett Ehgoetz) in the league and two games shy of tying the league season-high held by Stockton's James Bates (10/17/09-12/12/09).
