Stingrays Receive Van Buskirk; Fornataro Loaned To Norfolk

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays announced today that rookie goaltender Parker Van Buskirk has been traded to the team from the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for future considerations. The Stingrays also announced that forward Matt Fornataro has been loaned to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL.

Buskirk, 21, comes to the Stingrays with a 5-8-1-0 record, a 3.39 goals-against average and a.881 save percentage. The Windsor, ONT native started the season 4-1 with Utah.

Fornataro, 24, leaves the Stingrays with 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points in 33 games played. The Calgary, AB native currently ranks fifth overall in the ECHL with 36 points and is on a league-best 12-game point streak with 18 points (9g, 9a).

The Stingrays return to action Wednesday, January 6 against the Charlotte Checkers at Time Warner Cable Arena. Listen to the game LIVE at www.stingrayshockey.com !
