Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Tonight is the fifth meeting of the season between the Kalamazoo Wings and the Toledo Walleye. The K-Wings earned their first victory of the season against the Toledo last Saturday with a 7-3 win at the Lucas County Arena.

Commencing the home stand on a high note on Wednesday, the K-Wings stormed back from three goals down to defeat the Reading Royals 4-3 in a shootout. Kalamazoo's victory extended their lead in the North Division to three points over the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Struggling through a season-high three game losing streak, the Walleye enter Wings Stadium for just the second time this year. Tonight is the eighth road-game for Toledo, the fewest of any team in the ECHL. The Walleye's lone road victory occurred back on Halloween against the K-Wings.

Goaltender Switch

San Jose has reassigned goaltender Tyson Sexton to the Kalamazoo. In a separate transaction, the K-Wings have loaned goaltender Ryan Nie to the Worcester Sharks.

Power Surge

On the season, forward Rick Cleaver has netted six power-play goals. The six man-advantage tallies from Cleaver not only leads the K-Wings, but ties Cleaver for the league lead in that category.

Stellar Comeback

On Wednesday, Kalamazoo erased a three-goal, third period deficit versus Reading to defeat the Royals 4-3 in a shootout. The three-goal comeback marks the largest deficit the K-Wings have been able to overcome to win a game this season.
