Countdown to Face-Off
Published on January 12, 2008 under International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Two of the most tradition enriched franchises in minor league hockey will face-off tonight at Wings Stadium, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Fort Wayne Komets. Leading the all-time IHL series 121-119-31-1, Kalamazoo trails the season series versus Fort Wayne with a record of 2-5-0-1.
After dropping two straight games on home ice, the K-Wings are hoping the third time is the charm as they wrap up a three-game home stand. Despite the loss last night, nothing changed for the K-Wings, as they remain in fourth place three points behind Port Huron and still have two games in hand over the Icehawks.
With 14 victories, Fort Wayne has been rolling over teams at Memorial Coliseum; however, the road hasn't been all that kind to the Komets. With a road record of 8-6-1-1, Fort Wayne is fourth in road wins in the league and they are currently on a three-game road losing streak.
