
Bloomington's Lacasse shuts out Icehawks 2-0

BLOOMINGTON, IL - Bloomington Prairie Thunder goalie Loic Lacasse turned away 33 shots on Saturday to halt the Port Huron Icehawks 2-0 in front of a crowd of 3,825 at U.S Cellular Coliseum.
Rookie Lacasse handed the Icehawks their second shutout of the season as he posted his third win in as many starts.
Port Huron outshot Bloomington 33-24, but came up short on the power play despite eight opportunities. Bloomington was 1-5 on the power play.
The Prairie Thunder pulled in front with a power play goal from Jon Booras at 10:33 in the first period and extended their lead with a Bobby Kukulka tally midway in the second period.
The remainder of the game went scoreless, despite 12 Port Huron shots in the second period and 13 Icehawks shots in the third.
The Icehawks remain at third place in the International Hockey League with 39 points in the standings. They will look to snap a two-game losing skid tomorrow when they travel to first place Fort Wayne. Game time is 5 p.m.
