Icehawks And E&A Credit Union Saves For Charity Program Raises $1100

May 20, 2010 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) - Port Huron Icehawks News Release

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Icehawks are proud to announce that $1100 was raised in this season's "Saves for Charity" program with E&A Credit Union. For every save made by a Port Huron goalie in home games during the 2009-10 season, E&A donated $1 to the charity of that goalie's choice.

Larry Sterling raised $497 for the Port Huron Minor Hockey Association (PHMHA) in his 22 appearances at McMorran arena this season. Adam Russo and Raffaele D'Orso combined for 603 saves in 26 total appearances, earning a $603 donation for the St. Clair County Child Abuse and Neglect Council.

"The Saves-for-Charity program is such a fun way for E&A Credit Union and the Icehawks to partner and provide assistance to the youth in our community. We look forward to continuing this effort for the 2010-2011 season," commented Janice Rose, President/CEO of E&A Credit Union.

The PHMHA has provided organized youth hockey in Port Huron for over fifty years, and for the past 47 years, the PHMHA has hosted the Pee Wee and Bantam B, A, AA and AAA International Silver Stick Finals. Each year, financial assistance is provided to a limited number of recipients through the Roger Jones Scholarship. For more information or to make a donation, contact the PHMHA at (810) 982-0242 or contact PHMHA President Jim McPhee by phone at (810) 531-6016 or by e-mail at jmcphee@phhockey.com.
