Countdown to Face-Off
February 11, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
When the Kalamazoo Wings and the Muskegon Fury face-off tonight, it will be a battle of the top two teams in the Central Division. Coming into tonight, the K-Wings trail the Fury by seven points in the division; however, Kalamazoo hopes to narrow the gap, as tonight is the first of two meetings between the intra-state rivals over the course of the next four days.
After ending a three-game winning streak last night, the K-Wings come into the L.C. Walker Arena looking to get back to their winning ways. Forward Nick Bootland hasn't mind the road, as he has scored a point in each of his last 11 road games. Also on a scoring tear are forwards Jason Deitsch and Lucas Drake, who both bring in five-game point streaks into tonight's game.
Like the K-Wings, the Fury comes into the game looking to rebound from a loss. Muskegon snapped a 15-game unbeaten streak with a 6-4 loss on the road to the Motor City Mechanics. The 15-game winning streak (13-0-2) was the longest this season for Muskegon. The Fury are led by Robin Bouchard, who last week became the all-time leader in goals scored in the United Hockey League.
