For the final time in the regular season, the Kalamazoo Wings will do battle with the Rockford IceHogs. On the season, the K-Wings are 2-1-1 against the IceHogs, which includes a record of 1-0-1 at Wings Stadium.

The K-Wings come off the all-star break with some momentum. Besides having four players participate in the UHL showcase, Kalamazoo entered the break on a winning note, as they defeated the Port Huron Flags 5-1 last Sunday at the McMorran Place Arena.

The IceHogs also come into Wings Stadium on a high note. Rockford, who brings a four-game winning streak into tonight's game, is 14-6-2 in their last 20 games. The IceHogs lead the Western Division by 16 points and own the second best overall record in the UHL.

Power Surge

The K-Wings have taken full advantage of their power-play opportunities. While the K-Wings rank second in the league on power-play percentage, they do rank first in the UHL in power-play goals scored with 58.

The Big Labenski

Besides leading the UHL in plus/minus rating at +31, defenseman Greg Labenski also gave K-Wing fans much to cheer about at 2006 All-Star Classic. Labenski led all of the league's d-men in scoring with 2 points (1 Goal, 1 Assist).

Killing Time

While Kalamazoo ranks 9th in the UHL in killing penalties (82.7%), they have been improving. Entering tonight, the K-Wings have killed 17 consecutive opposing power-play opportunities.

Dishing It Out

Besides leading the K-Wings, defenseman Daniel Carriere ranks second among UHL defensemen with 34 assists. Carriere also ranks tied for fourth among all UHL players in helpers.
