
Mechanics take down the Dogs

RICHMOND, VA-The Mechanics lead by Peter Szabos' two points take the 'Dogs to the pound tonight as they knock of the RiverDogs 4-3 tonight at the Richmond Coliseum.
Vlad Serov started the scoring at 5:14 of the first when he scored his third goal of the season while Richmond responded four minutes later to tie the game at 1-1 heading into the second period. Two goals were scored in the second by both teams as Greg Bullock and Matt Smith each scored for the Mechanics heading into the third and final period tied at 3-3. The final dagger into the 'Dogs was 4:35 into the third when team goal scoring leader, Adam Edinger tallied his 26th goal of the year. The RiverDogs made a late push as they pulled the goaltender to gain the extra man advantage, but to no avail.
Rod Branch started his 38th game of the year and won his 18th game by making 28 saves. Peter Szabo lead the way for the Mechanics as he tallied two points (2a) in the evenings game.
The Mechanics remain on the road for the next three games. Tomorrow the Mechanics face Richmond for the second straight night, Sunday the Mechanics face Elmira and Tuesday the Mechanics are in Danbury for a midweek meeting against the Trashers.
