ST. CHARLES, MO - The Adirondack Frostbite recorded their third-consecutive win on Friday, defeating the Missouri River Otters 3-2 in front of 3,217 fans at Family Arena. The win coupled with Danbury's loss to Elmira pulls the Frostbite to within six points of the first-place Trashers.

Missouri scored the only goal of the opening period to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. Frank Littlejohn was able to keep a bouncing puck alive at the Frostbite blue line, and skated to the right-wing circle where he was able to beat Derek Gustafson with a quick wrist shot for his 19th goal of the season.

Adirondack pulled even just 23 seconds into the second period, scoring a shorthanded goal. Sylvain Cloutier took a quick shot from the far corner that was turned aside by Kevin Reiter, but the rebound came free to Ryan Bennett and he was able to flip the puck into the net for his second goal of the season.

The Frostbite took their first lead of the night at 7:06. Kevin Watters took a shot from a wide angle along the left-wing boards that beat Reiter high to the short side. The goal was Watters' team-leading 27th of the season, and his sixth in the last four games.

But, Missouri knotted the score at 14:59. Reed Low picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone, and skated in alone, beating Gustafson with a wrist shot for his first goal of the season.

The Frostbite went back on top with 2:02 left in the third period. Mike Berry won a face-off back to Josh Mizerek at the blue line, and he beat Reiter with a quick wrist shot from the center point for his second goal of the season.

Missouri pulled Reiter in the final minute and put intense pressure on Gustafson, but the Frostbite goaltender was able to hold his ground to preserve the win.

The Frostbite wrap-up their three-game road trip on Saturday at Quad City with face-off set for 8:00 p.m. ET. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 7:40.
