January 11, 2006 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
It's a battle of two of the top teams in the United Hockey League, as the Kalamazoo Wings host the Rockford IceHogs. Over the past two seasons, K-Wings and IceHogs have become a heated rivalry. Last season, the rivalry reached new heights when the two teams met in the Colonial Cup Playoffs.
After playing four-straight games on the road, the K-Wings will start a five-game home stand. The K-Wings, who are 12-2-0 at Wings Stadium this season, will have a new look to their lineup. Tonight's game will be the K-Wings debut of Brad Church, Mike Dombkiewicz, and Damian Surma.
The IceHogs come into Wings Stadium on a high. Rockford is unbeaten in regulation in their last 11 games. Rockford is 7-0-4 during this recent stretch, which has propelled them to a 14-point lead in the Western Division.
