Mechanics fall to River Otters, 5-2

FRASER, MI-The Missouri River Otters score all five goals in the third after being down by two early and defeat the Mechanics 5-2 tonight at the "Garage."

Adam Edinger, fresh of an All-Star selection, scored the first Mechanics goal just 51 seconds into the game. Peter Szabo earned the only assist on the goal.

14 minutes later the Mechanics made it 2-0 when Greg Bullock, who just came out of the penalty box, jumped on a loose puck and buried one past Kevin Reiter. Kevin Hansen and Rod Branch tallied the assists on the goal.

The third period belonged to the River Otters as they went on to score five straight goals en route to the victory, including two empty net goals. Lars Petterson in the process scored the hat trick for the River Otters by scoring the last three goals for the team.

Rod Branch made his 30th start in net and made 23 saves in defeat.

The Mechanics return home on Sunday January 22nd to face the visiting Quad City Mallards at 5:00 PM. Sunday is NASCAR night presented by Schwans Fine Foods and 99.5 WYCD, with prizes given away all afternoon courtesy of Michigan International Speedway. As always, every Sunday home game kids can get in for just $5!
