IHL 2 Kalamazoo Wings

Countdown to Face-Off

Kalamazoo Wings News Release

For the second time this week and for the final time this season at Wings Stadium the K-Wings will host the Richmond RiverDogs. After winning all five meetings against the ‘Dogs last year the K-Wings are 0-1-1 against Richmond this season, including a 4-3 shootout loss on Wednesday.

After being beat by Muskegon last night, Kalamazoo is looking to get back to their winning ways. The K-Wings are just five points behind Muskegon for first place in the Central Division and a win tonight against the RiverDogs would give the K-Wings some momentum for their return engagement in Muskegon tomorrow.

Like the K-Wings, Richmond is looking to rebound after suffering a loss last night. The RiverDogs suffered a 9-4 setback to the Fort Wayne Komets. Tonight is game five of a seven game road swing for the ‘Dogs. So far on the road trip, Richmond has a record of 2-1-1.

Un-Bear-Able

Bears will be flying when the K-Wings score their first goal of night, as tonight is the WOTV, WKFR 5th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night. Last season the K-Wings collected over 1,000 bears. The K-Wings are also collecting coats tonight to be donated to the Open Door Shelter of Kalamazoo.

New Addition

The K-Wings have added forward Tim Krueckl to their roster. Krueckl was acquired earlier this week from the Fort Wayne Komets.

One Goal Shy

K-Wings forward Yannick Carpentier needs just one more goal to tie Jim Duhart (43) for fourth place on the K-Wings all-time UHL goal scoring list. Duhart played for the K-Wings, when the team was located in Madison, Wisconsin. Randy Holmes leads the list with 87 goals.
