Kansas City Outlaws News Release

(Kansas City, MO) – Goaltender Mark McArthur made his debut Saturday night for the Kansas City Outlaws in a 4-1 loss against the Quad City Mallards. The Outlaws managed to outshoot the Mallards 44-39, but only Outlaw winger Bill Zalba was able to score on a power play goal in the second period.

McArthur was signed by the Outlaws on Monday and has over 12 years of professional goaltending experience. He has spent three of the last five seasons playing in Austria. McArthur was awarded the James Norris Memorial Trophy in 1995-1996 for fewest goals allowed in the IHL for the Utah Grizzlies. He was also named the British Ice Hockey Writer's Association ‘Player of the Year' in 2000-01. McArthur was originally drafted by the New York Islanders in the fifth round in 1994.

Kansas City Outlaws forward and Overland Park native Mark Uvodich continued to see more action tonight against the Mallards. Uvodich appeared in all three periods tonight and has played in all three home games this week. He has helped fill in for the Outlaws while defenseman Vaclav Zavoral and Marc-Andre Roy have been out with injuries. Uvodich, a Blue Valley Northwest graduate, played collegiate hockey at Saint Louis University.
