Countdown to Face-Off
December 12, 2004 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
The K-Wings finish up their four games in five nights this afternoon with a road contest against the Rockford IceHogs. The game was originally scheduled for November 28th; however, because of a scheduling conflict at the MetroCentre the game date was changed to this afternoon.
The K-Wings are getting used to working overtime. Last night marked the fourth time in their last six games that the K-Wings have had their game end in a shootout. Rookie forward Sean Starke scored his seventh goal of the season last night, which makes him the most prolific scorer on the K-Wings roster. Also with a .259 shooting percentage, Starke is also the most accurate rookie shooter in the entire UHL.
Rockford Head Coach Steve Martinson won his 450th career game as a head coach last night and more importantly the victory kept the IceHogs atop the UHL's Western Division. With a record of 17-5-3, Rockford has the best winning percentage (.740) in the entire UHL. The IceHogs are also tied for the UHL lead in home victories this season, as they have already won 11 games at the Rockford MetroCentre.
