Countdown to Face-Off
November 12, 2004 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
For the first time since October 29th, the K-Wings will hit the UHL road to battle the Missouri River Otters. The K-Wings, who lost at home against Muskegon on Wednesday to end their two game winning streak, will look to extend their one game road winning streak.
Due to injuries and call-ups this season, the K-Wings have had to deal with their fair share of roster changes and tonight will be no different. The K-Wings will be without the services of Ryan Barnes, who was called up to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League; however, the K-Wings will have the services of their hottest scorer, as David Hukalo will look to extend his four-game scoring streak tonight in Missouri.
The River Otters have had their share of injuries this season. In fact, their leading scorer Jim Montgomery will be sidelines 8-10 weeks with a sports hernia. Even with Montgomery on the shelf, the River Otters do have some scoring options. Both Justin Quenneville and Lars Pettersen looked poised to fill in for their leading scorer. In just seven games after being traded from Richmond to Missouri, Quenneville has scored 10 points. Pettersen has averaged a point-a-night for Missouri, as the forward has netted 4 goals and added 5 assists in nine games this season.
