Countdown to Face-Off
February 24, 2004 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
A rivalry gets renewed tonight, as the K-Wings host the Muskegon Fury at Wings Stadium. The K-Wings, who are unbeaten in regulation in their last five games, will try to extend that streak against the most prolific offense in the UHL.
Kalamazoo will receive some added offense tonight with the addition of Nick Bootland to the lineup. Bootland, who was on a call-up with the Cleveland Barons (AHL), was reassigned to the K-Wings on Sunday, but had to sit out the game against the Port Huron Beacons due a UHL 1 game suspension for his actions during the game on February 13th versus the Fort Wayne Komets.
With the Fort Wayne Komets idle, Muskegon knows tonight's game against the K-Wings is a great chance to narrow the gap between them and the Komets. The Fury are just four points behind the Komets for the top spot in the UHL.
